Bash Time

You got to meet a new person today. A few new people. Although we can’t tell or make you be friends with anyone, you should always be kind. Which means not hitting others.

Bash may be a little rough, but he’s a nice kid and he’s gentle with you. You’re just a little too soft. Maybe this will be a good thing for both of you 🙏.

Friend

Your friend was pretty aware today. She knows your name and she knows your daddy. She also reminded you to take your water.

Unfortunately, she has her back turned here. It’s too bad you can’t identify her and I couldn’t find her name. For now, she’s the girl with pretty 👀.

Sad 😢

Today I was really sad when I dropped you off. You were so sad I didn’t know what to do. I really hope it’s just a phase because we are not able to care for you ourselves while we work.

Hopefully Miss Ary will be available tomorrow when you get dropped off by mommy. I wish you could tell us what is going on. What doesn’t kill is makes us stronger 💪 🙏 

Gentle Hands 🙌

If you don’t start using gentle hands I will have to keep not using gentle hands with you. Or I will have to buy the dinosaur or skeleton for your timeout.

I can’t find a picture of you from JoAnns when you were really scared of the skeleton and then at Costco with the dinosaur. Good thing Uncle Peter didn’t buy it for you. Again, do us all a favor and do better.

Fun Day

You did okay in church today. You were active at the gym. You were good at Uncle Truong’s I think too.

Thanks for being nice to the people you saw today. They really like you so it’s important that you’re well behaved. Wish daddy some luck. Sleep well Boba Chop.

Adjusting or Nah?

Mom is worried that you need to change daycares. I’m thinking that you’re just having trouble adjusting to the new environment. Either way, we’ll do what mom wants. Hopefully you’ll be okay.

You did good today in the talent show. 👍 try to be good at the gym tomorrow. Sorry I can’t make it, but I’ll nap with you after. 😂

Please Aunty Lorraine, can you bake me some like banana bread, but make it healthier for my mom?

Of course Aunty Lorraine will make you more stuff and she’s sad that you didn’t get to enjoy all YOUR cookies. She’s never made healthier baked goods, but she will try for you. You’re sooooo lucky. 

Where’s Car? 🚗

What’s missing? The other car. I had to return it because it doesn’t fit your track and you found your other car. So you have 2 that work. 

Thanks for not remembering when you woke up. Sorry that tomorrow is gonna be an early day for you. I’ll try to pick you up earlier. At least it’s only once in a while and not everyday. #blessed

Sigh and Smack

Only we can do is sigh sometimes when you disappoint us. We understand you’re just 2 years old, but we also know you’re a very smart kid. With that being said, please know what when we discipline you, it’s out of love, not anger. 

You get almost everything you want, but you’re not happy and you don’t always behave. We will have to start being more firm with you know because we can’t risk you being a terrible adult. The quicker you learn, the less painful it will be for everyone. 🙏 

Errands

Today you got to spend some extra time with your daddy. It was fun wasn’t it? But we still keep on having the same issues. You didn’t eat well today and you weren’t nice to all the people we met. Not cool.

I don’t know how long you’ll be cute or how long people will put up with your shenanigans. Be nice. It takes more work to be mean and you’ll have less friends.

We know how lucky you are, but you probably don’t know that at this point in your life…

Today, we got another reminder. Now we just have to keep it green and alive. 🙏 

Gentle 👊

You need to be able to defend yourself, but you also need to use gentleness as well. I’m all for boys will be boys rough housing, but only when that’s the intended purpose. Otherwise you can’t be hitting people or yourself.

I know you’re still learning about dealing with your emotions, but I also know you’re smart enough to know better. So be better. 👍 

TGIF

I’m sorry that it’s gonna be a scorcher today. I want to take you to the park, but it’s probably not a good idea. 

You probably don’t want me to reapply sunblock anyways. So I guess it’ll be inside house fun with daddy until mommy gets home. Not sure if I’m swimming at Uncle Truong’s or not, but you’ll be okay with mommy. Please make sure you’re nice and behaved. You’ll be with her tomorrow morning too….

Books

It’s good thing you like books. It’s something mommy and daddy like for you too. You got a few new books yesterday!

Hopefully you’ll be able to read them to mommy and daddy soon. Until then we’ll keep reading for you. Here’s to hoping your birthday wishes come true. 🙏

Today we went and got some lottery tickets and scratchers for your birthday. Maybe you’ll wake up a millionaire. I promise the money is all yours. Mommy and daddy don’t need it.

Welcome to Beginners

Someone had their first day in a new class today. I saw poop on the ground and I was worried, but you survived. You’re very adaptable, so I hope you learn to adapt and thrive in your new class soon. 

In the meantime, I hope eating beef jerky isn’t bad for you. You seem to enjoy it and it’s protein? It’s almost your birthday, but you probably don’t know. I wonder if there’s things you think and look forward to…

You’re very smart. You know and remember so much. That’s why it’s so difficult when you don’t listen to instructions. 

In church when we tell you to be quiet, you need to be quiet. When we tell you don’t do something, we need you not to do it. It’s not for our benefit. It’s for yours. Please listen and behave.

E is for Emma

Side note, your Uncle Eric didn’t know what WWW stood for. Today, you got to hang out with your favorite cousin who loves you as much, if not more, than you love her.

Prayers to many more birthdays and many more memories with good friends and family. If only we could poop you out like this more often. You’d sleep so fast and well. 🙏 

View

What a lovely view you get to wake up to. Your own room, with all your own stuff. You’re soooo lucky. I didn’t get my own room until I was leaving for college. 

We hope you are aware early on how fortunate you are. Just so you can stay humble and work hard and be a good person. We won’t burden you with having to take care of us. We want you to have a good life of your own. We just hope you want us part of it. Don’t be that spoiled jerk kid. 🙏 

Timeout

I’m tired of threatening timeout for you. I’m trying to start using firmer and louder tone, but I haven’t quite mastered that yet. So I’m not sure what to do.

On a separate note, again, people are always so nice to you. You really need to learn to be nice back. That’s all I got to say about that. 

F is also for Fun

Someone got a fun day today with mommy and it wasn’t me. Except for feeding and nap time, I think it was pretty good? 

Sorry I dropped some pipes on your feet. If only you could associate that pain with the pain you cause when you kick your mom or hurt your unborn sibling. I hope you learn soon. 🙏 

F is for Fever

Someone’s got a fever today. Thank goodness Walgreens was open at 3AM. Not sure what happened to Walmart, but we got you the drugs. Unfortunately, it didn’t help you to make it to daycare.

You’re a pretty sick kid. I always hope I don’t under react to your ailments. It seems like you’re just hot today. Your ears seemed clean. We’ll see what happens when your mom gets home and tomorrow. 🙏 

L is for “Loser”

Don’t be a L-O-S-E-R, unless you’re losing your vices. 

I hope you stop throwing stuff in random places, especially the garbage and recycling bin. We won’t be able to save everything you throw. Hopefully we don’t lose anything too important or irreplaceable. 🙏 

Mommy Bom

Mommy isn’t gonna be able to bom you for a while. Sorry. She’s got a sibling in her belly that needs to be relaxed.

That’s why it’s really important to spend “bom” time with her when you can. Like sleeping. Let mommy sleep with you. Make sure you ask Chua and Xe and Me for a healthy sibling. We want a present for you guys, not a burden. 🙏 

Break

Today, we went on an errands run today. There’s a reason why daddy prefers to be in charge of errands. In about an hour, daddy went to Aunty Kieu’s, bank, jerky,  coconut water, and coffee, 

Daddy tries to be efficient so that there is more time to share and spend. Time is like money, it’s not unlimited. We have to be proactive about how we spend it. ⏱️

Growing

Sometimes I wonder how much we stunt your development by the “help” we provide you. Seriously bro, you could hold your own yogurt or fruit pouch.

But it’s nice to see you get up on your own. I’m hopeful you were crying for mommy too long and was not to bothered. We’re here for you, but we do want you to need us less. That’s the goal of all parents. To raise kids not to need us anymore. Don’t take it personal please. 

Chase and Co

Someone had fun with more friends today. I know I keep saying it, but it’s true and I hope you really appreciate that most people aren’t this lucky.

Hopefully you still keep in touch with the people that make life so full when you finally get to read this. Quality people are hard to find so keep the ones you have. ❤️ 

Uncle Marchis

You’re so lucky you get picked up by Uncle Marchis today. Daddy had to hang out with Uncle Peter, but I would have rather hung out with you. 

Hopefully you’re okay with the sacrifices your parents make for you. Someday I pray you’ll learn to appreciate  the life we’re trying to give you. 🙏 

Laundry Boba

Today you helped put clothes in the dryer. You remember how to do it. But then you threw your car into the dryer. Good thing I noticed. We have to be much more aware with you now.

Anyhow, I hope you get back to California time soon and sleep a little more. Although, having you up early is better for me, I don’t think it’s better for you. WWW. 

Jet Lagged?

You get that from your mom. Sorry. Maybe you’ll grow out of it. It’s a great skill to be able to go with the water.
