Sorry you had a crying day at daycare today. Thanks for waking up earlier and eating though. Made the morning and my transition back to work a lot easier.

I hope you get acclimated to daycare soon. Feel bad you cried a lot today, but at least you seem happy at home. Make sure to enjoy your grandparents while they’re here. A month will fly by faster than you think. But you probably don’t notice 😂.

Arrivederci. In almost a day, we’ll be back at home. I know you probably won’t remember this trip. If you remember anything from it, may it be the timeouts and punishments so that you will behave better in the future.

I was not fun punishing you or watching you be punished. Please try to be better each day going forward. I don’t want this to be a routine for your entire year 2 (3). 🙏

I’m not sure how we’re going to put a stop to your smacking of your mother and I. I hope that you aren’t doing that at daycare, but if you are, I wonder how they’re responding to it.

Punishing you repeatedly is getting old and I’m not sure if it’s even working. Anyhow, today is our last day of Europe. Please be good on the plane rides and car rides tomorrow. I also pray you adjust back to normal life quickly. I do not want a sad week at daycare…

Best Buds

I don’t mind being your buddy, but I’m your father first. If you’re a good son (I’m assuming I’ll be a good father), then likely, we can be good friends too. 

It’s not that I don’t want to be your friend, but rather that it’s more important for me to be your father (if I had to choose only one thing). I’m not sure how it will all turn out, but I can promise you that I’m gonna try my hardest to be the best father I can be. Sorry that you’re my first (hopefully not last) chance at trying.

That’s today, 10/23. I know we’ve been hard on you about being better, we should also strive to be better too. We’re never too old to improve. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a fail. You don’t want to associate with those people.

We are not asking you to be perfect and we’re not expecting ourselves to be perfect, but simply to believe that we are always capable of being better. Sometimes there will be setbacks, just remember to keep moving forward. I’ll hold your hand.

Someone has been eating a lot better, but the tantrums and throwing stuff has not improved. I’m not sure what I should be more worried about. At least you are still scared of timeouts and getting smacked.

Maybe we need to smack or punish you immediately without a warning? Not sure. I pray you’ll learn to want to avoid those things and behave. I was scared as a kid, but you don’t seem to be.

P is for Playground 🛝

Another town, another playground for Vinh. It’s a lot different from the other playgrounds we’ve been to so far, but I see a lot of parents and kids here so it’s probably a good spot.

Sorry, this may be the last playground you see until we get home. It looks like rain in the forecast for the rest of the trip. I’m glad you don’t have any expectations that we know of to be disappointed.

You are getting very good about sitting in your own seat on the airplane. Albeit, we have to bribe you with candy. You had great improvement.

For dinner today, you ate a lot of pizza which is good too. Unfortunately, we had the same trouble flossing and brushing your teeth today. Hope you’re ready for a week with Annalex. Enjoy them while you can. ❤️ 

Ferry Boba

Someone went on another ferry ride today. This one was fancier and bigger. I hope you had a good time on Supetar. Mom had a great time.

Mr. Crab finally got to see some of Croatia. Today is the last day here. Tomorrow, we head to Italy to meet up with Annalex. Hope you’re ready for some fun times. Maybe a change of scenery and people will help you out. 🙏 

Good Boba, Bad Boba

Your adjustment to sleeping has been great on this vacation. However, I feel like your bad behavior is more frequent or maybe it’s just because I see you all day now?

Anyhow, it’s not acceptable. I know you may not appreciate or want to be on vacation, but there’s no excuse for bad behavior. As an adult, you won’t get away with it so you might as well learn to be better now. Some other kids may have more relaxed parents, but we’re only disciplining you for your own good. Please get on board soon. 🙏 

Tour Hater

I think it’s safe to say that walking tours aren’t your thing. But could you try to be cool for your mom and others?

Hopefully we just have one more walking tour in Florence and you’ll have other people to keep you entertained. Either way, working on your behavior is a constant. Please try to improve and be better. Everyone will appreciate a well behaved cutie than a misbehaving cutie…

It’s unfortunate that you aren’t able to control your behavior yet. I don’t blame you because you’re just a baby and as your parents, we haven’t always been the best teachers. We all know this trip isn’t for you or me. But we can try to enjoy it anyways. Thanks for being so good except the eating and airplane issues.

We will be at our destination tomorrow so we can finally get some normalcy and vacation in our lives. Please be patient and eat more. Someday maybe we’ll be able to go somewhere you want. 🙏 

Life’s Challenges

You’re 2 years old, so everything is probably a new challenge for you. Today you did pretty good, but I wonder if your misbehavior was sugar, sleep, or situation related.

You even fell asleep at 8P which is noon California time. Hopefully you sleep the whole night. Jet lag is fake you know? Tomorrow is gonna be another rough day. Thank goodness the flight is shorter. Keep up the good work Boba Chop Vinh.

So far so good. I had an emergency work call, but it’s over. Hopefully you’ll eat and be a good passenger. Too bad mom didn’t let me get you an extra seat. It’s like first class without being first class…

Today you showed me that you know what gentle means in the bathtub when you gently tapped your toys on stuff. I know you’re smart. 

You also have a very active imagination which is good, but you’ll need to be able to distinguish it from reality in the future. You told me you hugged E because she was sad on the bike today. I hope that’s a true story. ❤️ 

Listen 👂

And understand. And remember. And act accordingly. This morning was rough. Your mom needs her sleep. You need your nebulizer and food. Daddy needs peace in his life.

We’re not always gonna get along and there’s going to be conflict. But we can and should reduce the number of incidents we have because we all know better. So please work with us to make Team Boba the best it can be.

Golf ⛳️

I’m really hoping you like golf and are decent and that I’m able to golf a long time with you. It is a good opportunity to get exercise, bond, and have fun. Mom can’t complain cause it’s good for us. Maybe she can go too. 

That’s how we met. Good thing I didn’t marry her based on her ability to golf or her wardrobe. 🙏 

Easy Life

I wish you could understand and appreciate how easy your life is currently. It could be even easier if we won the lottery, but having you is like a lottery that doesn’t involve money.

I pray that you’re able to have a life as good as ours, but hopefully better. We work hard so you won’t have to struggle as much as we did. I hope you’re able to take advantage of being our son. DTYVM

This is my coworker and her family. Her son, Ronan, is only a few months or weeks younger than you. Maybe someday you’ll get to meet each other.

He’s pretty cute, but not as cute as you. Anyhow, they’re traveling along the east coast and we’ll be traveling soon too. Hopefully you’ll be behaved and have a good time. 🙏 

Good Eats 2x

Thank you soooooo much for eating two good meals today. You finished your eggs this morning and you ate basically all of your nuggets this evening.

And you didn’t even need to watch lion dance to eat your nuggets. If only every meal was this easy. Especially when it is food that’s pretty healthy. Tomorow is another day and I remain pessimistic 😂
