Daddy had 2 decent rounds of golf today. Which means tomorrow is gonna suck for him. But bad golf is better than no golf.

We wanted to have her as a potential sitter for you in the future, so I hope this is just because she’s new and you just woke up. Anyhow, sorry you won’t get to make up with her until this weekend. 🤞 

Chew, Chew, Swallow

It sure takes you a long time to eat the sausage with the skin. I’m wondering if the skin is harder to chew. Anyhow, we won’t be having breakfast together for a few days. I’m sorry. I know you like me more than mommy.

Hopefully mommy figures out that you only like eating one food at a time and that the skin on the sausage is too much work. I’ll be back Sunday. Hopefully, in time to go to lunch. 

Life Is Hard

I know. Sorry about your boo boo today at school. Makes me feel more bad that I yelled at you this morning for not eating the apple sauce you told me you wanted.

Sorry I won’t be able to put you to sleep for the next few days. You asked me why I have to go golfing and thus you wanted to fly with me. I’m sorry I can’t take you. Please be good to mommy while I’m gone. I’ll be back in no time.

Welcome Home

Sorry I couldn’t buy the car for us. But if we win the lottery (depending on how much we win), we can buy it? Until then, keep praying 🙏.

I think you wanted the orange one, but if you change your mind to blue we can do that. Probably get a deal too, but it’s still gonna be at least $400K after taxes. I’ll buy some lottery later, but we would need to win at least tens of millions for the purchase to make sense…

Are You Happy?

I know this trip was for mommy, but I hope you also had a good time. If anything, you got to spend time with Uncle Alex and Aunty Anna. We’re home now. 

I can’t tell if you’re asleep or not. Anyhow, I’ll be gone in a few days again. So it’s nice I didn’t have to swim today. You’ll get a few more nights with daddy…

…until Vinh misbehaves. The thing is you know better and we know that you know better. 

So we really need you to behave. I don’t want to have to yell or spank you, but if that’s what it takes, that’s what I’ll do. I don’t know if your life will be a result of nurture or nature, but it would appear that if we’re not involved, it’s not gonna be good. So we all need to work together as a “family” to make each other better and hold each other accountable. Sorry it’s soo much to ask a child…

Why are you so scared of everything? I think it’s good to have some fear, but you need to experience life too. You need to figure out who to trust in life, but I can tell you that your mom and I are people you can trust.

So when we say it’s going to be okay and you don’t need to be scared, we’re not trying to trick you. We just don’t want you to miss the out on good stuff. Let’s work on listening to and trusting mommy and daddy okay? 🙏

Why are you scared of the rabbit at the airport. I was gonna put a picture here, but I don’t want to traumatize you like the Dos and their fear of 🕳️. Anyhow, I brought some stuff in case you get scared on the plane.

I mean it was just Easter and you got a haul of stuff then, but today you got banana bread from Aunty Lorraine. What more can you ask for (besides a baby sister and your daddy winning the lottery)?

Tomorrow you get to fly to Vegas and stay at the Wynn. I don’t know any kids your age that got to stay at the Wynn. Landon and Avery are much older. So alway stay humble and remember how fortunate you are. Be lucky 🍀 this trip 🙏.

Case of the Mondays

“I want to sleep more downstairs” so here we are:

Daddy is stuck, but needs to wake you up soon. This is why I keep telling you that you need to sleep earlier and faster when it’s time to go sleep. That way you don’t wake up so tired or want to sleep more. Maybe I need to record videos and show you so you understand? It’s a good thing I don’t have any meetings today and I did some work over the weekend. #worklifebalance

Super Sunday

Or at least we tried. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad. Unfortunately, we had to skip Bash’s bash. Sorry. It’s not our intention to be so popular and busy, but at least it keeps you blessed with a lot to do. 

It’s been an interesting and busy week. Lucas can’t tease and Fin Fin can’t drink your milk, but you might miss them. It really depends on whether you want peace  in your life or problems. Seems like you want problems so far…

I’m sorry that church was so long, but I really wanted to give you a chance to have more fun Sunday. I’m sorry mommy screamed at you when she was trying to put you to bed. She’s going to a retreat later this year. Maybe it’ll help. 🙏. Anyway, just remember we’re all doing our best and we do things we think will be good for you. So be nice and cooperate. 😊 

Good Friday

God was good to me today (I got to golf). But I guess I’m alive still so God has been good to me everyday of my life…

It’s always good to remember that. The world may punch you in the face, God will make sure you don’t die, even if she doesn’t take the pain away. Remember and look for the blessings. DLLD 🙏

When we’re anywhere where you need to be quiet, you need to be quiet. I know you’re young and easily distracted, but you need to learn from the people in front of you today in church. They were well behaved.

But I think I know the problems. One, Finley. Two, mommy. Sorry. Finley will be gone soon, but you need to learn to behave around other kids. Mommy will always be here, so you need to behave when she’s around like you do when she’s not…DLLD 🙏 

The Best

You should always try to look for the best in people. Nobody is perfect, but in most cases, if you try and look hard enough, you should be able to find something good in even the worst people.

I’m not saying put yourself in danger or stress yourself out, but most people have a good quality. You can learn that from them, without learning all the bad. Maybe you can learn to sleep by yourself from your cousin Lucas? Or that he cares about people? But don’t learn the other stuff. 🙏

No school today. Wasn’t the plan, but I hope it works out for you (and mommy). Don’t think you’re sleeping yet. Www. Anyhow, I heard you like the nun school. I hope you will thrive wherever you decide to go. 🙏

Haircut 💇‍♂️

Someone got a haircut today. I was too busy holding your baby cousins and keeping your bigger cousin away from them so I didn’t have time to take a photo.

But don’t fear, your mom too lots of photos. It always takes a while, but you eventually behave. It would be a lot smarter and better if you started listening and behaving at the beginning…

Palm Sunday

Did you have fun with your cousins today? My Gym, Easter egg hunt, church?

Hopefully so. I also hope that you don’t develop bad habits. I’m trying to think of good habits they have that you can try to copy, but the only one I can think of is sleeping early, which I doubt is gonna happen…

Cousins

You and your cousins had a great car ride home from the airport yesterday. You didn’t even want to go home.

It’s unfortunate that you’re gonna fight with Finley soon, but it’s nice to know you guys are capable of getting along. They’re only gonna be here a week and the you won’t see them for at least a few months. So enjoy them while you can. They can be frustrating, but they’re family. 🤗 

Dad Time

It’s nice that I’m able to spend time with you. Sorry that I didn’t take you home early, but I did pick you up earlier than usual…

I hope you also enjoy our time together. I’m sure there will come a time sooner than I anticipate where you won’t want to hang out with your dad. Which is a good thing for you. I’m working on being present with you while I can. So be nice 😆.

Always

You’ve been jumping up and down on my last nerve (and probably your mom’s) lately. It’s frustrating because we know that you know better than to do things you aren’t supposed to do. You’re very smart. You can’t fool anyone anymore sorry.

But no matter how much you annoy or hurt me, I’m always going to be your father. I may need a break from you, but even during that break, I’m always gonna worry about you. What you see here isn’t just cards and snacks and clothes, it’s the things I think about and prepare to make sure you have the best life we can give you. 

Consequences

There was a funny video with your cousin Evelyn talking to her brother about consequences. Maybe it’s our failure as parents that we don’t let you experience enough consequences (negative ones).

The next generation is really at a disadvantage. As we try to protect you, we handicap you by not allowing you to experience important feelings in life that may impact your development. Maybe it’s time to start letting you experience more consequences. We have to remember that we’re parents first, friends second.

999 Posts…Ooooohhh

Man, you’re about to be 1000 days old or close to it. I don’t recall when before your birth I started this blog. It’s too much to go back and check. Anyhow, what happened today? Why didn’t you want to go to my gym and play?

Why are you so clingy when I drop you off? Why you pee a little in your pants? We worry about you buddy. I hope it’s nothing, but I wish you could tell us. And your eyes… 😭 

I Want To Go To Bambu

To buy lunch for Ong Ba Noi. That’s what you told me today. Pretty sweet of you, but I wonder if you wanted something for yourself too. Anyhow, they don’t serve lunch so no point going, but I would have liked a coffee. Too bad the camera didn’t catch it. 

We had a pretty good day today except you peed in your pants at Ong’s and you made it difficult to put eye drops in your eye. I sure how your infection doesn’t spread to the other eye and that you get better soon 🙏.

Better Days

Don’t give up. Better days are around the corner. Unfortunately, you’re gonna have to miss My Gym and Merryhill for the next few days. I’m sure they’ll miss you, but it’s important to do the right thing as often as we can.

I’m gonna assume however you got your infection, the parents didn’t know. But since we know, we have to make sure we don’t get others sick. Daddy daycare tomorrow and park. Which I think are pretty good alternatives. This is a reminder to make sure your hands are clean and to not rub your eyes or nose. Use wet tissue. 🙏 

Bad Days

You’re Baby Gavin. You’re a baby. Of course you’re gonna have bad days. And because you’re a baby. I’m sorry that you may be having eye issues.

We’re gonna take you to bac xi tomorrow. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and just allergies or congestion. 🙏 

Family

You can’t pit your family against each other and you can’t not like mommy or daddy because we’re “parenting” you. We really are trying our best to give you the best life possible. We just need you to participate. “Just try it”

You get to learn all the things we wish we knew earlier in our lives. Hopefully you will soon. 🙏 

Daddy Is Confused 😵‍💫

What’s going on little buddy? Today you were clingy when I dropped you off. Unfortunately, Miss Liz wasn’t there, but at least you went to the other teacher (one that wears 🧕).

You’re a pretty smart kid, so if something is wrong, you need to tell us. I asked you about school and you said it’s good and you’re okay. So it’s really impossible for me to know how to help. Anyhow, I’m sorry that we can’t go to my gym today, but I’ll take you to the park. Hopefully you’ll have a great time. 🙏 

Sweet Boy 👦

That you are. I’m not sure why you always ask if I’m sad or happy or okay or angry, but I appreciate it. Even if you don’t know what you’re asking, but I think you do. 

I just wish you were also a better eater and sleeper and I’m not sure why you’re peeing your pants. But I guess I can’t have everything. I’m happy you’re who you are and not someone else (worse). Just hope you become better, but I know that’s also our responsibility as parents…

Why?

Today you had a potty accident at daycare. First time that we know of since your regression at daycare. We’re just at a loss of why and what we can do to help you get back on track.

It’s started too early to be an April Fool’s joke and if it is, I’m okay if it’s over now. I don’t want you to get held back and I don’t want to have to bring extra clothes everywhere…
