Play hard, work hard. Balance. Moderation. Blah, blah, blah...As a parent, I want to shield you from all the bad stuff and only expose you to the good stuff. Unfortunately, that's not realistic, it's not healthy, and it's not possible. Which is why you should really accept that life is about give and take. If you happen to get it all, that's great, but remember that getting half is pretty good.

I work early in the morning, late at night, on weekends and holidays and vacations, but it allows me the freedom to go golfing before work. I don't have to mark all my time off. I get to drop you off and pick you up from daycare and when So is closed, I get to open the doors to Daddy Daycare for you. I wish I could have it all, but I'm learning to be okay with what I got. Make juice out of whatever life throws at you son.
